1 C butter, softened
½ C sugar
¾ C brown sugar, packed
1 t vanilla
1 egg
1 C flour
1 t baking soda
½ t salt
1 t cinnamon
1 t nutmeg
3 c old-fashioned oats
12 oz chocolate chips
Beat butter with sugars at a medium speed until creamy and light. Add egg & vanilla, combine well. Stir in dry ingredients minus oats, and add to sugar/butter mixture. After mixing well, stir in oats. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake 8 minutes, at 375° and cool on wire cooling racks. Store in airtight container.
Makes 4 dozen cookies
